NCFE and Functional Skills

The Functional Skills qualifications are designed to provide practical skills in English, Mathematics and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). They’ll be available to all learners aged 14 and above, replacing Key Skills in Communication, Application of Number and ICT respectively.

These qualifications are currently being piloted to make sure the qualifications are effective and relevant to learners and that the assessment methods are appropriate and fit for purpose. This pilot has been organised by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA).

Use the links on the right-hand side of this page to access useful support and information about the pilot, as well as the Functional Skills monthly update.

We're also currently looking for Paper Writers to work with us on the Functional Skills qualifications.  Click on the links to find out more.
