Identifying key themes and skills sectors in the
national and regional priorities relating to the East of England.
From this array of national objectives and their regional interpretations we can start to see recurring themes that guide us to identify the opportunities for skills development in each area of the region, and the required training needs of students and the workforce.
Key themes include:
1. Stimulating vocational pathways for 14–19-year-olds
NCFE qualifications support the development of vocational skills, and transferable generic employability skills for the 16–19 cohort.
NCFE Level 1 and 2 qualifications offer an alternative vocational pathway to studying GCSEs for 14–16-year-olds. All of these qualifications have Qualification Performance Figures attached to them which offer a percentage contribution towards Level 1 and Level 2 thresholds (link to NCFE Directory of Products and Services for full details).
2. Raising Skills for Life
NCFE offer a range of Basic and Key Skills qualifications from Entry Level to Level 4, helping people and communities to achieve their potential.
3. Promoting equality and diversity and sustainable communities
NCFE offer an Equality and Diversity qualification through a variety of delivery modes, and are the only awarding body with a qualification in sustainable development.
