Tell us a bit about you

Being born and bred in the North East, I've always made the most of being so close to the coastlines and rural walks. I live with with my husband, three children and puppy. We love to go on adventures on a weekend, whether that’s splodging through the muddy puddles in the woods or enjoying the coast-to-coast cycle routes on our doorstep. I'm a big fan of music and enjoy going to concerts all over the world. I like to keep myself fit and healthy, however my love for food and my husband’s love of cooking sometimes gets in the way of that. I love to travel and one of the most amazing places I have visited is the Inca Trail in Peru. I hope I get to take our girls to magical places like that when they are older.

Tell us a bit about your career

I started out as an apprentice supporting the STEPS into Health and Social Care project at my local Strategic Health Authority (SHA), where I discovered my passion for education. I became involved in the delivery of learning on the Government's flagship young apprenticeship programme for 14–16 year olds. I've since held several roles delivering programmes of learning to the health sector including apprenticeships, leadership, coaching and mentoring programmes. I led the learning delivery team at Skills for Health, supporting major trusts and SMEs in the health sector to develop, deliver and evaluate high-quality learning provision for workforces. Most recently, I was part of the EPA Plus management team, helping to establish the infrastructure to build and operationalise an EPA offer and develop a customer base. I now lead the Assessment Innovation function at NCFE, an exciting role that supports NCFE and the wider sector to build, test and trial innovative approaches that have a positive impact.


NCFE has always been an organisation that delivers excellent customer service and support to its customers – I've seen that from the customer side when working in delivery. It was that dedication to the customer and ultimately, the learner, that first attracted me to the company.
