New booking process for Functional Skills controlled assessments

From 22 September, controlled assessments for Reformed Functional Skills must be booked by component level. For example, English Reading, English Writing, Speaking, Listening & Communicating (SLC) and Mathematics should be booked in the Portal by selecting the qualification and then component and topic.

The assessments will be available to download directly from the Portal and no longer need to be retrieved from QualHub.

Component level bookings can be made for English in the order assessments are required and each will be available for 6 weeks from the point of booking, giving more flexibility to sit components over longer periods of time.

The new booking process will count learners as ‘complete’ for DCS calculations once all components are booked.

You will be able to view a bookings report from the Portal, showing learners booked by qualification and component.
