Performance Tables

To ensure our qualifications meet the needs of schools and are a robust technical alternative to GCSEs, our Key Stage 4 V Cert Technical Awards and our qualifications for Key Stage 5 qualifications have been submitted to the Department for Education (DfE) and have undergone a rigorous approval process.

The DfE has confirmed that we have now entered the period of moratorium and no further qualifications will be added to performance tables as they focus their efforts towards the launch of the new T-Levels. This process will be in place for a minimum of 2 years.

2020, 2021 and 2022 Performance tables

We’re pleased to be able to confirm that qualifications approved in the 2020 performance tables will be ‘rolled over’ and approved for inclusion into the 2021 and 2022 performance tables. No new qualifications can be added to the list of approved qualifications, however, the DfE still retain the right to remove any that fail to meet the strict technical guidelines. Our summary guide provides you with a downloadable resource for you to easily check the list of approved NCFE qualifications

Information for centres with learners completing Tech Levels or Applied Generals on 2018 list of approved qualifications

On 19 January 2018, the DfE released the following update to the guidance which relates to learners completing Key Stage 5 in summer 2018:

'Ministers have decided that students who are due to complete key stage 5 in summer 2018 and are taking Tech Levels or Applied General qualifications on the 2018 list should be given an additional opportunity to retake their external assessment(s). It has become apparent that some providers may not have fully understood the more challenging nature of the reformed qualifications when students were enrolled, and the additional retake opportunity is designed to mitigate the impact of this.'

If your learners need this additional third attempt during the 18/19 session, please contact [email protected] as this will need to be input manually into our system.

Only learners who are due to complete Key Stage 5 in summer 2018 will be eligible for the additional (third) attempt, if necessary.

For clarification, the NCFE and CACHE qualifications affected are:

  • NCFE Level 3 Applied General in Music Technology (601/6779/8)
