What does the qualification cover?
This qualification introduces the responsibilities of being a parent. It covers the welfare and care of babies and young children, respecting and valuing them, and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
It is made up of units from the Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People. This means credits can be transferred over so there is no need to repeat learning if you go on to complete the Level 2 Certificate.
What is a nested qualification?
This qualification is nested. Qualifications within a nested suite allow learners to be topped up to a qualification that is the same level and subject within the Award, Certificate, Diploma structure. Who is it suitable for?
Young people in schools or colleges.
What are the entry requirements?
You should be at least 14 years old. We do not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.
How many credits are required to complete it?
The Award requires 6 credits.
How is it assessed?
It will be assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks, coursework or methods such as oral questioning.
Do you need to be working to take the qualification?
No, as this is a knowledge only qualification.
How long does it take to complete?
You can usually complete it in less than 6 months.
