V Cert in Sports Studies

Focusing on a range of important and topical content areas – from ethics and technology in sport to psychology for sports performance – this Level 1/2 Technical Award in Sports Studies can help pupils on their way to a career in sports coaching, sports management, and physiotherapy.
V Cert Technical Awards are designed to be delivered over two years. The first year of delivery is entirely dedicated to teaching and learning, with all summative assessments taking place in the final year of study. The Sports Studies V Cert Technical Award is assessed by Non-Exam Assessment (60%) and Examined Assessment (40%).

Who this qualification is for
This qualification is designed for pupils who are passionate about sport and want to explore both the practical and theoretical aspects of the sports industry. It offers a broad, hands-on introduction to the sector, combining core knowledge with opportunities to develop real-world skills in coaching, performance analysis and sports leadership. Pupils will study key topics such as participation and ethics in sport and how to plan, deliver and review sporting events and coaching sessions. This qualification is ideal for students considering further study or a future career in sport, coaching, fitness or related fields. It supports the development of leadership, communication and organisational skills, preparing learners to take active roles within the world of sport.
