Now launched: foundation apprenticeships
We’re expanding our apprenticeship offer to include two brand-new foundation apprenticeships within our market-leading assessment service:
- Level 2 Software and Data Foundation Apprenticeship
- Level 2 Health and Social Care Foundation Apprenticeship
Foundation apprenticeships are designed to help learners:
- take their first step into work-based learning at Level 2
- develop sector-specific employability skills that lead to higher-level apprenticeships or direct employment
- access opportunities for young people aged 16–21 (or 22–24 with an Education, Health and Care plan, or those in the prison/ex-offender system)
The introduction of foundation apprenticeships brings a more streamlined, provider-friendly approach:
- On-programme assessment built in.
- More flexibility for providers with aspects you can deliver and mark.
- Simpler terminology:
- "apprenticeship assessment" replaces EPA
- "Assessment Organisation" replaces EPAO
- "Gateway to completion" replaces Gateway.
There are now seven foundation apprenticeships nationally, across sectors including Engineering, Health and Social Care, and IT Infrastructure.
While the assessment model is evolving, our commitment to quality doesn’t change.
We’ve designed our assessment services to:
- integrate seamlessly with your training delivery
- support provider success with clarity and confidence
- help apprentices thrive, progressing into work or higher-level study.
With our proven expertise in apprenticeship assessment, you’ll be ready to take advantage of this new model and unlock more opportunities for your learners.
