The information on this page will include everything you need to know about the timely delivery of vocational technical qualifications (VTQ) results for learners in 2025-26 and the term-time checkpoints process.
As part of our commitment to supporting providers with interpreting T Level results, we have also pulled together a range of key materials and guidance. View everything, including chief examiner / moderator reports here.
If you're a learner and thinking about your next steps following results, visit our webpage for guidance on what you can do next.

Key dates for term-time checkpoints and results
To identify which learners need a result on or before August results days for progression to higher education or further education, we’ll ask you to complete two term-time checkpoints during the academic year. Here are the key dates for your diary:
- The window for the first term-time checkpoint will open on Monday 8 December 2025, and the deadline will be Friday 30 January 2026.
- The window for the second term-time checkpoint will open on Monday 23 March 2026 and the deadline will be Thursday 30 April 2026.
- We want to remind you that from summer 2025, we brought forward the completion date for EQA reviews to Tuesday 30 June 2026 to ensure that results are issued for results day.
- You must make claims for all your NCFE CACHE Level 3 qualifications no later than Tuesday 14 July 2026. The exception to this is the NCFE CACHE Technical Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) 601/8437/1, which must be claimed by Thursday 6 August, after results are released on Tuesday 4 August.
- Results for T Level technical qualifications will be released to centres on Wednesday 12 August 2026, in preparation for students receiving these on Thursday 13 August 2026.
- Results for Level 1/2 Technical Awards (V Certs) will be released to centres on Monday 17 August, in preparation for you sharing them with learners on Thursday 20 August.
- Results for NCFE’s Level 3 qualifications (excluding T Levels) are available throughout the year depending on when external assessments have been completed or EQA activity has been carried out.
Requirements for the first term-time checkpoint (opening on Monday 8 December 2025)
You must complete the following actions:
- Check that all learners currently studying on an NCFE programme at your centre are registered on the NCFE Portal – learners should be registered no later than 90 days after their start date, or late registration fees will apply (separate fees apply for T Levels and V Certs). See all details in our fees and pricing guide.
- Remove any learners who have withdrawn or transferred to a qualification out of scope of these arrangements.
- Ensure all planned end dates are completed and accurate – if your learners require a result by results days in August 2026, please ensure their planned end dates are no later than Thursday 20 August 2026.
- Nominate a senior designated contact for your centre – this should be someone who we can escalate any issues to both during and outside of term time (even if you submitted this information last year, we require senior designated contact details to be resubmitted for 2025-26). Please note that if you’re the senior designated contact for multiple NCFE accounts, you’ll need to submit a separate form for each unique account number. You can have multiple senior designated contacts if needed, to ensure that there is always someone from your centre available.
- Sign the declaration form on the Portal to confirm you have completed the above actions.
Requirements for the second term-time checkpoint will be shared after checkpoint one.
Consequences of failure to meet deadlines for information requests
As stated in your centre agreement, you must comply with all requirements for the provision of information to us within the specified timeframes. If your centre fails to respond to term-time checkpoint requests for information, this may be considered as maladministration as it is in breach of our centre agreement.
Please note that a lack of engagement from your senior designated contact could be considered as maladministration if they fail to respond to requests for information.
We appreciate your collaboration and participation in the checkpoints process, and we hope that the timelines and information above give you the opportunity to complete the checkpoints before the stated deadlines.
