About this qualification
This qualification is part of the Level 3 Travel and Tourism suite of qualifications and is designed to give learners the skills to work in the travel and tourism sector. It offers breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge, skills and understanding, and provides opportunities to acquire a number of practical and work-related skills.
Learners will gain those skills by successfully completing the required mandatory and optional units.
This qualification will also enable progression to further studies.

Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is designed for learners who want to go on to higher level studies or into a relevant travel and tourism role.
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and above.
What are the entry requirements?
Learners should have already achieved a level 2 travel and tourism qualification, or equivalent, or have some experience/understanding of the subject area.
How is this qualification structured?
This qualification is made up of 3 mandatory units from the introductory certificate, the mandatory travel and tourism pathway unit and 14 optional units from the 33 available optional units.
How is it assessed?
Internally assessed and externally quality assured.
How long will it take to complete this qualification?
This qualification has a total qualification time (TQT) of 1440 hours and features 1080 guided learning hours (GLH).
Is employment or completion of work/industry placement required for this qualification?
If learners choose to complete the unit Work experience in travel and tourism (J/507/8489) they will need to complete a placement/work experience.
