Here you'll find answers to your frequently asked questions about T Level registrations.
When do I need to make registrations by?
Students must be registered for the T Level by 1 November of their first year. This helps ensure they can access assessments and moderation activities on time.
When registering students, you'll be asked to book their first core component assessment series. You can choose the relevant assessment window and decide whether students will attempt:
- both the Core Exam and Employer Set Project (ESP)
- the Core Exam only
- the Employer Set Project (ESP) only.
In most cases, providers will book their students on both the Core Exam and ESP in the same assessment window – for example, the summer assessment window. However, this is not a mandatory requirement.
The Core Exam and the ESP can be taken in different assessment windows. For example, a student could take their Core Exam in the summer assessment window and the ESP in the autumn assessment window, following the first summer assessment window.
Occupational Specialism (OS) bookings do not need to be made by 1 November of the first year. For example, for students taking their Occupational Specialism in Summer 2027, the entry deadline is Monday 18 January 2027.
Once students are booked onto their occupational specialism, an NCFE moderator can then be allocated. We therefore recommend making these bookings as early as possible to support moderation planning and help avoid delays.
