About this qualification 

This qualification is designed for school leavers and those returning to education, including those considering a career in the fitness industry and anyone wishing to improve their knowledge of activity and exercise and wanting to adopt a healthier lifestyle for themselves. 

Who is it suitable for? 

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 14 and above, who may be considering progression into the fitness or physical activity sector, as well as for learners who wish to develop their understanding of physical activity, exercise, and healthy lifestyles to support their own wellbeing. 

What are the entry requirements? 

There are no specific prior skills/knowledge a learner must have for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they have already achieved an entry level qualification. 

How is this qualification structured? 

To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully achieve two mandatory units. 

How is it assessed? 

Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence which is assessed by centre staff and externally quality assured by NCFE. 

Is employment or completion of work/industry placement required for this qualification? 

Work/industry placement experience is not required.

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to the following:
