The qualification is based on industry requirements and will allow learners to explore different aspects of the aviation industry.

Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for learners aged pre-16 and above.
This qualification is designed to provide learners with an understanding of the principles of working within the aviation sector. The primary purpose of this qualification is to allow learners to progress to employment in the aviation industry. The secondary purpose is to allow learners to explore different aspects of the aviation industry before specialising.
This qualification will also allow learners to gain transferable skills that can be applied to the workplace or further study.
What are the entry requirements?
Learners aged pre-16 and above to study this qualification.
Registration is at the discretion of the centre, in accordance with equality legislation and should be made on the Portal.
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 1 qualification.
Centres are responsible for ensuring that this qualification is appropriate for the age and ability of learners. They need to make sure that learners can fulfil the requirements of the learning outcomes and comply with the relevant literacy, numeracy and health and safety aspects of this qualification.
How is this qualification structured?
Learners are required to successfully complete all 5 graded mandatory units and 6 optional non-graded units.
How is it assessed?
This qualification is internally assessed and externally quality assured.
How long will it take to complete this qualification?
This qualification has 310 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) and a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 372 hours.
Is employment or completion of work/industry placement required for this qualification?
These are not required for this qualification.
