About this qualification 

This qualification is designed to provide learners with a knowledge and understanding of management. 

Nested qualification 

This qualification is part of a nested suite, which includes: 

• Level 3 Award in Principles of Management 

• Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Management and Business 
• Level 3 Diploma in Principles of Management and Business 

Qualifications within a nested suite allow learners to be topped up to a qualification that is the same level and subject within the Award, Certificate, Diploma structure. This can be done by self-service through the Portal. Qualification nests and top-up pricing can be found in our fees list. 

Who is it suitable for? 

This qualification is designed for learners aged 16 and above, who are aspiring to become managers and those who hold some supervisory responsibilities who are looking to progress into more senior management roles. 

What are the entry requirements? 

There are no specific prior skills/knowledge a learner must have for this qualification. However, there is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2. 

How is this qualification structured? 

To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully achieve 2 units from the mandatory units. 

How is it assessed? 

Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence which is assessed by centre staff and externally quality assured by NCFE. 

Is employment or completion of work/industry placement required for this qualification? 

Work/industry placement experience is not required.

Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to the following:
