This qualification aims to:
- provide learners with an understanding of the basic principles of the travel and tourism industry and allows them to explore the various avenues of work within this industry
- allow learners to gain transferable skills that can be applied to the workplace or further study.
This qualification is suitable for use within a Study Programme.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is designed for learners aged pre-16 and above who wish to develop skills and knowledge in the travel and tourism industry.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 1 qualification.
Learners registered on this qualification should not undertake another qualification at the same level with the same or a similar title, as duplication of learning may affect funding eligibility.
Registration is at the discretion of the centre, in accordance with equality legislation, and should be made on the Portal.
How is this qualification structured?
Learners are required to successfully complete 2 mandatory units and 4 optional units.
How is it assessed?
This qualification is internally assessed and features an externally moderated portfolio of evidence.
How many credits are required to complete it?
This qualification requires 18 credits to complete.
How long will it take to complete this qualification?
This qualification features 118 guided learning hours (GLH) and has a total qualification time (TQT) of 180 hours.
Is employment or completion of work/industry placement required for this qualification?
These are not required for this qualification.
