About this qualification
This qualification is designed for learners who are using IT within their job or plan to pursue a career in a job requiring IT skills. Units can be taken at a variety of levels, which gives flexibility to enable the qualification to match job roles. This qualification is suitable for learners using IT systems in a wide range of job roles.
The objective of this qualification is to allow learners to apply knowledge, understanding and skills to a level recognised by employers, thus proving competency in their job role.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for learners aged pre-16 and above.
What are the entry requirements?
This qualification is designed for learners who are using IT within their job or plan to pursue a career in a job requiring IT skills. There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 1 qualification.
How is this qualification structured?
To be awarded the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ITQ) (501/1239/9), learners are required to successfully achieve a minimum of 16 credits. 4 credits must be from the mandatory unit and a minimum of 12 credits from the optional group. A minimum of 6 credits must be at Level 2 or above. Only one of the same titled units can contribute to the credit total.
This qualification contains barred units. These are identified in the summary for each unit.

How many credits are required to complete it?
The credit value for this qualification is 16 credits.
How long will it take to complete this qualification?
This qualification can be completed in 1 year or less depending on the learner’s knowledge and experience.
Is employment or completion of work/industry placement required for this qualification?
There is no requirement for a learner to undertake any work experience or placement to meet the requirements of this qualification.
