From induction through to progress into higher education, NCFE’s short study skills qualifications are designed to neatly bookend a study programme. 

Induction qualifications support learners at the beginning of their journey, while Higher Level Study qualifications prepare them for progression, equipping them with the skills and UCAS points required for university.

Why add a study skill qualification to your post-16 programmes? 

Our study stills qualifications provide a practical framework to support the development of metacognitive skills, improving learning, independence, and progression. Designed to be easy-to-deliver, these qualifications are flexible and can be adapted to meet diverse learner needs.

Induction qualifications
  • Level 1 and 2 qualification
  • Ensure students start their programme with clarity and confidence

Higher Level Studies
  • Level 3 Award – learners gain an additional 8 UCAS points
  • Good for pushing merit learners over 100 points
  • Short, sharp, and coursework-based with around 30 guided learning hours
  • Allows smooth transition to HE by developing crucial independent learning skills
  • Prepares learners for the demands of higher-level studies
