About this qualification
The Level 1 Certificate in Food and Cookery Skills (603/3909/3) is designed for learners with an interest in food and cookery. It will provide learners with experience of using different cooking skills and methods to enable them to use these within further education or apprenticeships.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is designed for learners aged 14–16 in schools and colleges but is also accessible for post-16 learners.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification.
How is this qualification structured?
To be awarded the qualification, learners are required to successfully complete four graded mandatory units.
How is it assessed?
This qualification is internally assessed and externally quality assured via a portfolio of evidence.
How long will it take to complete this qualification?
This qualification can be completed in one year or less depending on the learner’s knowledge and experience.
Is employment or completion of work/industry placement required for this qualification?
These are not required to complete this qualification.
