Skills Review: Achieve apprenticeship success
Setting learners up for success
Skills Review is a self-assessed skills gap analysis tool that enables learners and employers to review and input recognised prior learning. It also assesses an individual’s abilities at the beginning of their apprenticeship to set them up for success.
Intuitive initial assessment
With Skills Review, you can accurately pinpoint an individual’s starting point with an initial assessment. We’ve built this tool specifically for learners and employers to self-assess that the apprenticeship is an appropriate training programme for the individual, and to understand what will be needed to reach occupational competency.
Recognise prior learning
Learners and employers can review and input evidence into Skills Review that showcases the skills, knowledge, and behaviours they’ve gained prior to starting their programme.
Accurately recording recognised prior learning (RPL) means that:
- Providers can deliver more appropriate and engaging content to learners, leading to higher achievement rates and progression
- The course content and time taken to deliver it could potentially be reduced, giving employers a fully competent and productive employee in a shorter timescale
- Funds can be more focused, as they can’t be used to pay for training for knowledge, skills and behaviours already attained by the apprentice.
Measure progress towards end-point assessment
Skills Review keeps the employer up-to-date on the apprentice’s progress, so they can continuously monitor their readiness for the end-point assessment (EPA).
Evidence to demonstrate compliance
The tool is designed to meet ESFA funding rules, with evidence of prior learning and other learning data.
