Download our new Key Dates Schedule
Following your feedback in our consultation, we’ve finalised our T Level Key Dates Schedule (KDS) for 2025-26 and 2026-27. We’ve also provided responses to your queries raised throughout the consultation process. Thank you for your feedback throughout this process, as this has helped us shape our KDS to ensure it works for you and your students.
What’s changed?
- We’ve relocated Advanced Assessment Materials to a bespoke area of the website. Each year, we’ll indicate precisely which materials will be made available, when they can be accessed, and offer clarity on access restrictions for each resource. We’ll share more information on their location in advance of the autumn 2025 session.
- We’ve included start dates and submission dates in the KDS for internally assessed assignments for Occupational Specialisms, for both the Education and Early Years, and Health qualifications.
- We’ve amended the guidance on inactive students with a booking onto an Occupational Specialism with an internally assessed component.
- We’ve postponed the dates for later assignments within each Science Occupational Specialism to ensure that all assignments are now chronological.
- For Generation 2 of the Education and Early Years qualification, a single core paper will replace existing core papers A and B, and the duration of each Employer Set Project has been extended from 12 hours to 15 hours 45 minutes.
- We’ve scheduled the single core paper for Generation 2 of the Education and Early Years qualification to coincide with the corresponding date for core paper A for the Generation 1 version.
- We’ve reordered assignments within each Generation 2 Education and Early Years Occupational Specialism to ensure that they’re now delivered chronologically.
Please note that for moderated assessments within any Occupational Specialism pathway only: any students booked but not sitting the assessment should be marked as DNA in the “submit marks” screen. Failure to do this will result in delays to final moderation and student results.
We’ll continue to work with you on our KDS, to ensure we can balance the principles of assessment structure and design, and the delivery needs and resource limitations within and across providers.

Please ensure to check the new KDS for the dates of assessments for Generation 2 of the T Level Technical Qualification in Education and Early Years (610/5748/4).

#SkillsMatter – share your students’ stories with us on results days
Results days are pivotal moments for young people, their families, and educators. We want to ensure vocational and technical qualifications (VTQs) are celebrated during this time of year.
#SkillsMatter is a nationwide, coordinated, effort led by JCQ awarding organisations to showcase the value of VTQs - empowering individuals, strengthening industries, and driving economic growth.
Help us raise the profile of VTQs and the value they bring to students and the workplace of the future. Use #SkillsMatter on results day in August so we can fill social media with real-life examples, sharing success stories from students who have built thriving careers through vocational and technical qualifications. We're here to highlight the life-changing potential of these qualifications and ensure they get the recognition they deserve, and we want to provide guidance, encouragement and reassurance to young people exploring their next steps.
Let’s make this results day a turning point. Let’s make skills count. Let’s show that #SkillsMatter.

Remember to access the correct specification for Education and Early Years
Last month, we contacted our programme contacts and heads of centres at providers delivering Education and Early Years T Level to share details about the Generation 2 development and the new qualification specification. This specification will apply to any students entering their first year of this T Level in September 2025. Visit our webpage to learn more about the changes and read our FAQs.
Please note that students who have started before Monday 1 September 2025 and are continuing on the programme will not be affected by the changes. See our Generation 1 page for the T Level Technical Qualification in Education and Early Years (Level 3) for more detail.
