You said, we did! | NCFE

What can we help you find?

You said, we did!

Your feedback is important to us, and we use this to make improvements so that we can deliver world class customer service. Below are some examples of improvements we’ve made following feedback from our T Level events:

“I’d like more information on how to use the Portal”

We’ve updated the agenda for the below training events to include information around how to use the Portal:

  • Prepare to teach event – this will include an overview of the Portal and where to access the Portal user guide.
  • Moderation administration training – this will include a demonstration on how to register learners onto the Occupational Specialism and how to submit learner marks and evidence ready for moderation.

You can also find all the information you need within our T Level Portal User Guide. As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we’re continually improving the functions of our Portal, so please make sure you always access the most recent version of this guide, which can be accessed from our T Level Portal page.

“I’d like a step-by-step walk through of the qualification”

Our Provider Development team now delivers annual prepare to teach events for Teachers, Assessors and Exams Officers. These events provide a generic overview of the qualification, information on examined and non-exam assessments, and an overview of the quality assurance process.

“I’d like more information on administration activities”

We’ve updated the agenda for the below training events:

Administration training – this training is led by our External Quality Assurance team. Teachers, Assessors and Exams Officers should attend this annual training for information on:

  • administrative activities required for moderation
  • key dates
  • using the Portal to support moderation
  • IQA requirements
  • available support and training
  • moderation preparations.

Prepare to teach events – these events are delivered by our Provider Development team. Teachers, Assessors and Exams Officers should attend these events for information on administration activities required for the core component and employer set project (ESP).

“I’d like the description of the training to be clearer so I can decide if I need to attend”

You can view our training schedule on our T Level events page. In line with your feedback, we’ve reviewed the event description, making it clear what will be covered as part of the training and who the training is for. From this page, you can also access previous recordings of training events.

“I would like more information from an Exams Officer perspective”

As an Exams Officer, to support the moderation process, you may be required to book learners onto their Occupational Specialism (OS), submit learner marks and upload learner evidence in line with our Key Date schedule. You can also find all the information you need within our T Level Portal User Guide. As part of our commitment to continuous improvement we’re continually improving the functions of our Portal, so please make sure you always access the current version of this guide, which can be accessed from our T Level Portal page.

“I’d like more information on moderation criteria that is difficult to capture”

Our External Quality Assurance team delivers annual subject specific standardisation training for Teachers and Assessors. These events look at standardisation assessment materials for a pass, merit and distinction. We’ve updated our agenda to include difficult to capture criteria.

“I’d like to ask questions during standardisation training”

During standardisation, the Chief Moderator will look at standardisation assessment materials for a pass, merit and distinction, apply a mark and provide a rationale for the mark awarded. We understand it is unlikely everyone will agree on the mark awarded; however, standards are set by our experienced and competent Chief Moderators using the mark scheme. Their rationale must be applied and standardised within centres, during their own internal standardisation processes.

To help you to prepare for the training and identify questions you may have, sample materials will be available to download from the website prior to the training so you can review and apply grades in advance. During standardisation, you can post questions in the chat, which will be reviewed following the event and added to our FAQ page on our website.
