These qualifications are designed to address regional skills needs and bridge skills gaps, making training accessible at any life stage and breaking down barriers for adults aiming to advance in education, employment, and life.

Childcare 

Level 2 Certificate Introducing Caring for Children and Young People 

This qualification provides an opportunity to study a range of topics from three main areas: child care and education, babysitting and parenting responsibilities.

Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences

This qualification will provide learners with an opportunity to develop an understanding of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) relevant to their current or future roles and will equip them with basic understanding of techniques for preventing and addressing adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) in practice.

Early years

Level 2 Award in an Introduction to Neuroscience in Early Years 

This qualification’s aim is to provide an introduction to the early development of the brain in babies and young children from birth to seven years of age. It looks at how the social brain develops, the limbic system and self-regulation.

Level 1 Award in an Introduction to Early Years Settings

This qualification develops a basic knowledge of childcare in early years settings. It covers working with children up to the age of five years old. The units include subjects such as the value of play, roles and responsibilities of carers and volunteers and the importance of developing links in the local community.
