On the road again – join us at upcoming events
We’re delighted to be back on the road and attending several exciting events in the coming weeks, including hosting a panel debate on Levelling Up at the Conservative Party Conference, speaking at the Institute of Employability (IEP) Summit and much more. Find out where we’ll be.
Conservative Party Conference
We’re heading to the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester where we will be hosting a panel discussion - ‘Skills, Technical and Vocational Education: The Key to Levelling Up’ - from 3-4pm on Monday 4 October in the PLMR Business Lounge in the secure zone.
Chaired by Julia Belgutay (who spent many years at the helm of the Times Education Supplement’s FE Team), the debate will feature expert voices including Rt Hon Robert Halfon MP (Chair of the Education Select Committee), Carl Ward (Chair of the Federation of Education Development), Dr Ann Limb (British educationalist, business leader and philanthropist), Dr Neil Bentley-Gockmann (CEO at WorldSkills UK), and Zoe Lewis (Principal at Middlesbrough College).
The discussion will focus on how skills should fit into the UK’s rapidly changing labour market and look at how vocational and technical education must be used to combat the pandemic’s effect on people’s education and future career prospects. The debate will also explore what comes next to enhance lifelong learning for all, ensuring we meet dynamic skills needs through an agile system, supporting thriving communities, and British prosperity.
At NCFE, we welcome the Government’s ambitious plan for skills, and its recognition of the need to promote a technical education system which encourages levelling up and prosperity across the country. We would like to collaborate with stakeholders who also want to challenge the status quo, to make a difference and to look at what this means in action. If you’re attending the conference, we’d love to speak with you. Email [email protected] to get in touch and arrange a meeting with our Chief Executive Officer, David Gallagher, or one of our other senior colleagues in attendance.

The Apprenticeships Conference 2021
This event will explore the full apprenticeships landscape in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and will be a great opportunity to meet face-to-face at one of the first apprenticeship events in the 2021-22 session.
