Important updates and reminders for Model 4 Technical Awards

Any remaining learners with a registered status on the following qualifications should be ready to take the final synoptic assessment in summer 2024:

The Synoptic Project brief was released on 6 November 2023 and can be accessed, for all registered learners, by making a booking for a controlled assessment on the NCFE Portal. Once you have booked your learners onto the assessment, the assessment materials will be available to download, as a zip file, from the booking confirmation page within the portal. For further guidance see the Portal User Guide.

As a reminder from our previous updates, please ensure any remaining learners with a registered status are reviewed and the appropriate action taken to complete the learners within the Portal. This action should be taken by 31 December 2023 to provide us with a clear picture of the final learners intending to certificate in summer 2024.

  • if the learner(s) have completed a previous synoptic assessment and you intend to claim achievement for them, please make the required certificate claim as soon as possible and before the certification end date of 31 December 2024.
  • if the learner(s) will not be certificating, then ensure they are withdrawn.
  • if the learners are continuing their studies and will be completing the synoptic assessment in summer 2024, then you need to book them onto the controlled assessment now.

Failure to take action with the above request may constitute as malpractice and the JCQ suspected Malpractice: policies and procedures would be followed.

It’s important that the administration of your learners is managed appropriately in the portal to ensure that timely and accurate results can be issued to learners.
